Kit Order: If Only Winning Was This Easy

Kit Order: If Only Winning Was This Easy

The Problem: Ordering a new kit for your team means you are chasing down checks and organizing spreadsheets.

Easy Solution: www.kitorder.com

How Does Kit Order Work?

Kit Order is a simple web application that enables a team manager to:

  • Create a custom catalog of your team's items (i.e. short sleeve jersey, arm warmers, vest, etc) as well as relevant item details (i.e. pricing, sizing, fabric choices - warmth/weight, etc)
  • Invite your team members to place their orders. Each team or club member will be able to browse the custom team catalog, pick out items and pay by credit card.
  • Sit back and relax while Kit Order organizes and collects order details and payment for you. You can view real time stats of what has been ordered and who has ordered what as the order is still open.
  • At the order close, you will receive detailed reporting of the order info (.pdf/.xls file) as well as a check for the amount collected. You can then submit this information to your custom vendor to start production on your club's order.

Kit Order provides a simple way for teams and clubs to organize a custom clothing order; you choose the items and we collect the money. We send you a check, and you can pay your vendor in full. We don't do artwork and we don't hold inventory - we simply reduce headaches by automating the ordering process.

We built Kit Order with managers in mind to improve your experience when ordering custom clothing. Kit Order can be used for any type of team order that involves collecting money. Try Kit Order for your team's next nutrition and equipment order too!

You can learn more about us by checking out our website, www.kitorder.com.

About Kit Order

Kit Order was developed by Katharine Carroll, a professional cyclist and Janelle Kellman, a Cat 2 racer and a team manager, to help cycling club and team managers organize and process custom clothing orders with ease. Both women have abundant experience with the challenges around getting an entire team and/or club fitted with the proper clothing in time for the racing season.

US Cycling Team Pursuit Camp

I finished up a great week of training recently at the Colorado Springs Velodrome (fastest track in North America!). I was joined by a real All-Star team of women's cycling for the camp and that made it a real challenge. Sarah Hammer...multi-time World Champion. Kristin Armstrong...Olympic gold medalist. Dotsie Bausch...Pan Am gold medalist. Kim Geist and Shelley Olds...US National Champions. And our NZ Olympian...Jo Kiesanowski. Thanks to Andy Sparks for putting together a great camp!

What can you say about slugging it with that group for seven days? It was very inspiring! You had to wake up every day ready to pump up your tires and throw it down again and again. As a woman racing track in the US, it is not everyday that you get to train with women of that level and I normally end up at workouts with the guys. Nice change...super fun to have everyone on "my" track :)

I also had a chance to catch up with PROMAN teammate Shelley, as well as Kristin, who will be bringing her expertise and experience to the team in 2010 after retiring from the bike this Fall. It is a very exciting time with our team and look forward to the announcements we are getting ready to make!

You might think I get a breather after that...but I am working as an assistant coach at a USA Cycling U-23 Talent ID/Madison track camp this week. Imagine 22 super strong U-23 guys...some with no track experience, most with no Madison experience...all trying to tear the legs off each other on the track. Nothing like a dozen teams making exchanges on the track at the same time...better than coffee! It is a great group to work with and keeps me involved with the coaching of developing riders (especially now that the season is over for my Boulder-based junior team, the Flatiron Flyers Junior Cycling Project).

See everyone one at Track Nationals!

BikeClicks Racer Chicks weekend, Louisville, KY

I was invited by Joan Hanscom of USGP and Suzanne Webster of www.bikeclicks.com to lead a women's weekend in Louisville Kentucky. It was a great weekend, this will be an annual event!
See report below taken from www.truesport.com
A great group of women attended that are supported by a growing cycling community.
The weekend was not only about learning basic racing skills but about how to start and build a gras roots program that encourages more women to race and ride.
Thank you everyone for making me feel so welcome. I will certainly be back! (I missed out on Suzanne's Bourbon slushies!)

The inaugural BikeClicks Racer Chicks Weekend Clinic p/b Bluegrass Bicycle with Nicola Cranmer held on August 29 – 30, is complete and plans are already in the works to do it again next year.

Nicola Cranmer, Director of
ProMan Hit Squad spent the weekend in Louisville, KY in support of women’s cycling, bike racing and grassroots efforts and to teach or two about women’s bike racing and encouraging other women to give racing a try. The Bikeclicks Racer Chicks were a diverse group of women in age and cycling experience, but all wanted to learn more about training, racing, and how to encourage more women to conquer their fears and line up at a race. All day clinic sessions were held on Saturday – girls traveled from Dayton, OH, Bloomington, IN and Lexington, KY for the chance to meet and learn from Nicola Cranmer. The women enjoyed a nice breakfast and conversation about racing and building women’s teams in their areas. Discussions were followed by lunch, then some skills work in the park and then a nice long ride out to Norton Commons with some very organized and coached pace line work; then a gelato stop & a little crit course review and cornering work.

Sunday was race day and women who had never raced their bikes before got a complete lesson from Nicola and some serious individualized attention in all things “race day” – complete with a “How to Warm up Like A PRO” trainer session, what to do when you arrive to the race and what happens on the start line. We had a pace car, bell laps, and primes, lap cards and the women were taught about lead outs and how to rotate to chase a break. They crossed the finish line exhausted, exhilarated and ready to try another race – but not before Nicola explained the ins & outs of podium etiquette and they all had their photo taken!

Many of the women left the clinic eager to bring their newfound knowledge back to their communities; as one participant, Sherri Thompson said, Nicola provided us with several options to pursue for growing women's cycling here. She provides a great example to follow.

Participant Erika Edwards said, "The clinic with Nicola was an awesome learning experience for me, especially as a person new to racing. The training races were great because Nicola rode with us as we practiced drafting techniques and riding in a pack. I was able to take her feedback and apply it right there on the race course!"

Nicola brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the clinic but also caters to each cyclist's level of fitness and ability. She was very encouraging and provided an ample amount of constructive commentary to each participant. I can't wait to attend the clinic again next year!

And there will indeed be a next year! Nicola Cranmer was super happy with the weekend and plans to come back again - and she’s bringing some of the Hit Squad with her.
